Weblinks

Here are some web links that can be useful for Camino Pilgrims and also for other travelers.

Getting Started Tutorial  When I went on my first Camino trip, Nancy Reynolds patiently steered me in the right direction, both by email and on the ground.  Thanks Nancy!

https://godesalco.com/plan  Super useful planning site that allows you to develop an itinerary with vertical profiles, rest days and dates. You can print out a trip plan.

Casa Ivar  In addition to hosting Camino Forums, Ivar will store luggage for you in Santiago.  Best to wait until you get to Spain to send it so that it doesn’t get stuck in Customs!

Jaco Trans  This company does a great job of transporting your bag when you don’t feel like carrying it.  Normally, you attach an envelope with where you want the bag to go to and the fee.  Have your hospitalero call them for a pickup the night before.

Camino Guidebook  Lots of great info from Dintaman and Landis on this website, including and Albergue list and GPS tracks.  (Buy their Kindle version!)

Albergue websites  Here’s a great list of websites for Albergues courtesy of Dintaman and Landis.

Wise Pilgrim Guides. I found this to be the best Smartphone app for the Camino, Route guide, lodging and History all included.

APOC Credential  You can get your credential in SJPP, but why not join APOC?  Here’s the page to request a credential.

The Man in Seat 61  This is the best site around to get information about trains,  Be sure to read the specific country page before buying tickets.

Spanish cell phone providers

Outdoor Gear Lab  This site has useful reviews for all kinds of outdoor gear.

Walk in a Relaxed Manner  Good book to read before your Camino

To The Field of Stars.  Another great Camino read.

Hotel A Veiga Restaurant, Samos  One of the better restaurants on the Camino.

Casa Liciero. Well recommended place to stay in Samos.

Bicigrino Bike Rental.

Tournride  Bicycle rental with return office in Santiago, NOTE: Make sure that your rental fits you, and preferably has fenders. Mine didn’t, and it was painful!!
